Results and Responses to the Customer Feedback Survey

Thank you for all the feedback and development suggestions we received during the season!

We have reviewed all the feedback and compiled a short summary of the results below.

The draw for the feedback survey was held on 8 May and the winners of the MoWe Card have been notified personally by email.

The spring feedback survey received a total of 66 responses.

Gyms

The gym is our most popular service, and during the spring of 2026, almost 7000 people have visited the campus gyms to work out! Guided gym workouts are considered an important part of the service offering, and the instructors received positive feedback.

In the survey, the gym facilities in Rauma received slightly lower ratings than those in Pori. However, active users of the Rauma gym generally feel that the equipment and facilities are functional.

Gym Development

The feedback highlighted a wish for better consideration of fellow gym users. Respondents hoped that all users would pay attention to the following:

  • Remove weights from bars and return equipment neatly to its proper place
  • Avoid reserving equipment while browsing on phones
  • Wipe down exercise mats after use
  • Avoid using strong fragrances at the gym
  • Respect staff-only shifts in Pori

The gym at the Pori campus is sometimes considered crowded, and there is a desire for it to be open on Sundays as well. We have regularly discussed Sunday opening hours with those in charge, and we will continue these discussions.

Equipment Maintenance and Renewal

You hoped that the equipment would be replaced and maintained regularly. In the feedback, some are very satisfied with the equipment in the gyms, while others think that the equipment is broken and/or in poor condition.

The equipment on both campuses undergoes basic maintenance 2x a year. If the equipment breaks, it is important to send us a service request as soon as possible.
The aim is to renew the equipment systematically according to needs/wishes.

In 2025, based on customer wishes, thigh extension and flexion equipment and a new rowing machine were purchased for the Pori gym. An ergo grip set was purchased for the upper pulley and new plate weights for the bars. In March 2026, a new treadmill was purchased. A new exercise bike and incline bench have been ordered.

A more extensive annual maintenance and cleaning was carried out in Rauma in the spring of 2025. At the same time, the padding and cables of several gym equipment were renewed. In the autumn, an exercise bike was purchased and now a new rowing machine has been ordered.

The next investments are currently being planned.

Group Exercise, Ball Games and Swimming

Based on the feedback, group exercise is clearly one of our strengths in both Pori and Rauma. Classes are perceived as high-quality, and instructors are considered friendly and approachable. Signing up for classes and shifts is seen as easy, and the renewed application received praise.

Users are also satisfied with the ball game and swimming shifts.

The class content and schedules have met users’ needs well, and many respondents hope the offering will continue in a similar way in future seasons. Variety is appreciated, and respondents wished for even more diverse classes and sports trials.

Communication and Accessibility

Active users of the services feel that up-to-date information, communication about services, and overall accessibility of communication are good. On the other hand, respondents who use the services less frequently felt that communication was less visible.

This suggests that communication works well among active users, but proactive and accessible communication about services and activities should be strengthened further to make participation easier for everyone.

Sports Facilities

The feedback has raised the question of why the activities are focused on SAMK's facilities. The University of Turku officially joined CampusMoWe in early 2025. Before that, SAMK was the sole financier of the activities, which is why services were primarily organised at SAMK facilities.

The SAMK campuses in Pori and Rauma include gyms and sports halls. In the spring of 2026, the services were expanded to the Rauma Teacher Training School. We are also open to expanding services to other campuses if suitable sports facilities become available.

The location of sports services is a key accessibility factor, and compared to large student cities, the distances in our operating environment are short: the distance between campuses is only 1–2 kilometres, depending on the destination. This enables gym, group exercise, and ball game services to remain close to the everyday lives of students and staff.

Please also remember the benefits of our partners in Pori Porihalli and Rauma Gymppikunto.
